Lawyers Enter Not Guilty Pleas for Three Practitioners on Trial in Jiangxi Province
December 29, 2012 | By a Minghui correspondent in Jiangxi Province, China
(Minghui.org) Linchuan District Court in Jiangxi Province tried Mr. Chen Yongqing, his wife Ms. Zhao Peng, and Ms. Xia Jiping on December 11, 2012. Two lawyers from Beijing defended them with a plea of not guilty. The lawyers pointed out that practicing Falun Gong is a personal belief and it is not a crime to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The lawyers also pointed out that law enforcement personnel should not act against the law, justice, and conscience, and should not knowingly break the law. The lawyers asked that all three practitioners be acquitted.
Mr. Chen, Ms. Zhao, and Ms. Xia talked about how they benefited both physically and mentally from practicing Falun Gong. They told others not to believe the communist regime’s lies about Falun Gong. They hope all the judges and police officers present will help stop the persecution and be kind to Falun Gong practitioners.
