Xiajin Police Active in the Persecution of Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) Officers from the Xiajin County Police Department in Dezhou, Shandong Province have taken an active role in the persecution of Falun Gong. They have persecuted many local practitioners including Mr. Li Bingchen, Mr. Zhang Shouqiang and Ms. Tang Jilan. Mr. Li and Mr. Zhang were illegally arrested and are being detained in the Xiajin Detention Center. The following are accounts of recents rounds of persecution.

Ms. Tang Jilan lives in Wangmiao Village, Shuangmiao Township, Xiajin County. On the morning of June 1, 2013, officers from the Shuangmiao Township Police Station broke in and searched her home. Ms. Tang was not home at that time, but her husband was present. The police took away Falun Dafa books.

Mr. Li Bingchen, about 40 years of age, lives in Lilou Village, Dongli Town, Xiajin County. Officers from the Xiajin County Police Department broke in and searched his home at noontime on May 26, 2013. They confiscated his computer, printer, and miscellaneous items. Mr. Li was arrested.

Mr. Zhang Shouqiang, in his 30s, is from Wangtang Village, Shuangmiao Township, Xiajin County. On May 28, 2013, officers from the Xiajin Police Department, the Shuangmiao Police Station, the Dezhou Police Department, and the Ling County Police Department went to Ling County and arrested Mr. Zhang, who was working as a laborer in Ling County.

Officers from the Shuangmiao Police Station had once tried to arrest Mr. Zhang on August 29, 2012. At that time, the party secretary of Wangtang Village led seven or eight police officers to Mr. Zhang’s home. They broke the door open. Mr. Zhang was not home at the time. The police searched the home and took away his computer and 1,000-yuan bills on which words clarifying the truth were written. Mr. Zhang was forced to leave his village to avoid arrest and further persecution. He went to Ling County and worked at a factory. He was arrested nine months later.

Mr. Zhang Shouqiang is a welder. He suffered from severe backache because of his work and could not straighten his back and had difficulty walking. After he started practicing Falun Gong, his backache was gone and he became strong. He followed the principle of Falun Dafa, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. His work is good quality and he always charge reasonable fees. His customers trust him. However, good people such as Mr. Zhang are often harassed by the police. After Mr. Zhang was arrested, his elderly father, who has difficulty walking, could not eat or sleep. He stood at his doorway every day, waiting for his son to come home.

Since July 1999, the Xiajin Police Department has actively followed the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution policy. They have searched local Falun Gong practitioners’ homes, and arrested and detained practitioners. The following cases of persecution have taken place in recent years.

Officers from the Dongli Town Police Station arrested Mr. Liu Qinghong and Mr. He Yuming on August 13, 2012. Mr. He was sent to a forced labor camp.

The Xiajin police arrested Ms. Yang Fenglan in October 2010 and sent her to a forced labor camp.

On July 25, 2010, Ms. Chen Yuzhen was arrested and detained in a forced labor camp for 15 months. She has since been released.
