Taipei: Rally of 5,000 Supports Lawsuits Against Jiang Zemin

July 29, 2015 | By Minghui correspondent Shen Rong

( About 5,000 Falun Gong practitioners gathered outside Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building, located in Taipei, on July 18, 2015. The event was to commemorate the 16-year-long persecution of Falun Gong in China that was launched on July 20, 1999, as well as the recent rise in criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin.

Rally outside Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building on July 18The banner reads, “Supporting Tens of Thousands of Lawsuits Against Jiang Zemin for Persecuting Falun Gong.”

Ms. Zhang Jinhua

Ms. Zhang Jinhua, coordinator of the Taiwanese Falun Gong Association said, “Throughout history, we have seen many times that the righteous was challenged by the vicious. But, in the end, the righteous always prevails.” She called on more people to support this righteous cause and support freedom of belief.

Mr. Zhong Dingbang: 54 Days in Chinese Detention Center

Mr. Zhong Dingbang

Mr. Zhong Dingbang, founder and CEO of an IT firm, filed a criminal complaint against Jiang.

“The Chinese communist regime detained me for 54 days three years ago,” said Mr. Zhong, “because I planned to intercept the television signals and tell the public the facts about Falun Gong. After all, this regime has defamed Falun Gong for 16 years and people have no access to the facts. All they have seen is the hate-propaganda from the state-controlled media.”

Although Chinese officials demanded that Zhong provide information during his detention, he refused to do so. Meanwhile, rescue efforts started in Taiwan. More than 200,000 signatures were collected that called for his release.

“I was released,” said Mr. Zhong, “because so many people showed their support. But, the persecution of Falun Gong in China still continues. I hope more people will step forward to end this brutality and support freedom of belief.”

Mr. Zhu Keming: Jailed for Five Years for Suing Jiang

Mr. Zhu Keming was jailed for five years in Beijing for suing Jiang in 2000.

Hong Kong practitioner Mr. Zhu Keming filed a lawsuit against Jiang in 2000 while still in Beijing.

“Because of that,” he said, “I was jailed for five years. I was cruelly beaten and suffered other types of torture.”

He tried six times to sue Jiang while in prison, but was unsuccessful. After his release, he went to Hong Kong in 2007 and continued his effort to sue Jiang.

“The persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang and the Communist Party has had a large and negative impact on China and its position in the international community,” he said.

Mr. Zhu said that the human rights violations against practitioners disrupts the Chinese justice system. Meanwhile, when Jiang forces news outlets to remain silent on this issue, he is jeopardizing the moral standard worldwide.

“That’s why the lawsuits against Jiang are critical, because they is needed to regain moral awareness in society,” said Mr. Zhu.

Human Rights Lawyer Wei Qianfeng Applauds Lawsuits Against Jiang

Human rights lawyer Wei Qianfeng

Wei Qianfeng, a human rights lawyer, thanked those who filed criminal complaints against Jiang.

“It’s not an easy process, but we will get there for sure,” he said.

The totalitarian regime in China has abused its power and not only arrested practitioners, but also detained at least 200 human rights lawyers.

“This has violated United Nations human rights conventions, China’s Constitution and other laws,” said Mr. Wei.

He supports the lawsuits against Jiang and hopes that the detained practitioners and human rights lawyers will be released soon.

Gao Weibang: Assets Stolen by the Communist Regime

Gao Weibang, an investor, whose assets were stolen by the Chinese regime, also spoke at the event.

“Two major things happened to me in 1999,” he said. “First, I lost my fortune because of the communist party and second, I witnessed how the Party mobilized the news media nationwide to defame Falun Gong, a peaceful meditation group with no political pursuits.”

He said that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has stayed in power through violence and lies. The criminal complaints against Jiang will be instrumental in bringing an end to this regime, preventing more people from becoming its victims.

Dr. Nie Sen: “The Persecution is Genocide”

Dr. Nie Sen, a department chair at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., said that the persecution of Falun Gong is genocide.

“This persecution is nearing its end,” he said. “We can see this from the 82,000 criminal complaints against Jiang that were filed in just two months. We know that good is rewarded with good’ and evil meets with evil. The day will come soon for Jiang to meet his fate.”

He called on Taiwan citizens and organizations not to bow to the Chinese communist’s power.

“Let’s embrace this right cause and help restore the social conscience,” he said. “At this critical moment in history, our efforts will help maintain traditional values and create a better future for us and for future generations.”

A Desperate Lung Cancer Patient Given a New Lease on Life

July 30, 2015 | By a practitioner from Jilin Province, China

( I’m a 72-year-old retired policeman. I practiced Falun Gong before the persecution began in 1999. However, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong, I was so scared that I stopped cultivating. Gradually, I was no different than a normal person, and my health steadily declined year by year.

Tortured by Terminal Disease

Lesions were found in my left lung in July 2013 and I had surgery in October. I was often in pain after the surgery but I didn’t tell my family. One day I learned from my doctor that I had lung cancer. I was very upset because I knew it was a terminal disease.

My son, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor, prescribed many herbal medicines for me. My daughter-in-law bought a “magic lamp” for me. I also tried many folk remedies. But nothing was helpful.

I was near the point of collapse. I had no appetite and my weight dropped to 50kg. I had no interest in anything, but just wandered along the river every day. I even thought of jumping into the river to end my life, so that I wouldn’t have to endure the torture of the disease.

Regaining My Health

It was my colleagues, a married couple, who brought hope to me. They are Falun Dafa practitioners. They told me many times that nothing could cure my disease except Dafa. In desperation, I started to practice Falun Gong.

The couple gave me the book Zhuan Falun and encouraged me to sincerely recite the verses “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I did so day and night.

In the span of one month, I saw amazing results. My pain subsided, my legs became stronger, and I regained my appetite. I was very happy and energetic.

The couple and I formed a Fa study group. We read the Fa and did the exercises together. Just as Master said, “…practicing cultivation is the best form of rest” (“Lecture at the First Conference in North America”), I felt very comfortable after each exercise session.

Improving My Character

However, cultivation is indeed difficult. I had a very hard time sitting in the full lotus position with both legs crossed on top of the other. Master told us,

“To cultivate in meditation, you have to cross your legs for a long time, and once they’re crossed, your legs ache and feel like pins and needles. After a while you start to feel anxious, and then you get really anxious—you are “working the body, tempering the will.” Your body doesn’t feel good, and your mind doesn’t, either.” (Zhuan Falun)

I had to tolerate the pain until eight months later, when I could finally sit in the full lotus.

Improving character was not easy, either. I found that many of the tests came from my wife. She always gave me a hard time. When I was studying the Fa, she would criticize me for sitting in the wrong place. When she was cleaning the house, I had to move around to get out of her way. And she was always very loud. Actually, during our many years of married life, we always had conflicts. I thought that she was the one who created the problems.

Master said, “In true cultivation you have to cultivate your mind, you have to cultivate inward, to look inward—you can’t look outward.” (Zhuan Falun)

This was exactly my problem; I didn’t think as a practitioner. I never thought about looking inward, but always blamed my wife. After I enlightened to this, I often reminded myself to be a real practitioner and to look within myself, regardless of what happened. Soon, our relationship became better and the long-existing conflicts were resolved.

Witnessing Miracles

I have witnessed miracles during the year that I’ve been practicing Falun Gong.

One day I was riding my bicycle back home after Fa study. Suddenly it was cloudy and thundering. It was going to rain any minute. I told myself that I couldn’t get the Dafa materials in my bag wet, and prayed for it not to rain before I got back home. While I was thinking that, I pedaled faster. As soon as I got back home, it started to rain!

Another day, I suddenly couldn’t lift my arms. I thought that I must be sick. However, after studying the Fa and sharing experiences with fellow practitioners, I got rid of the thought and insisted on doing the exercises as usual. The next day, my arms were totally fine.

Right now, I’m not only disease free but also my xinxing, or character, has improved. I will work harder to keep improving.

Shipbuilding Engineer Sues Jiang Zemin for Her Detention and Torture

July 30, 2015

( Ms. Yuan Xiejie filed a lawsuit against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong that cost her her job and resulted in her illegal detention and brutal torture.

Ms. Yuan mailed out her criminal complaint to the Supreme People’s Court and Supreme People’s “Procuratorate” on July 1. She received a mail receipt confirmation the next day.

A senior engineer at Dalian Shipbuilding Company in Liaoning Province, Ms. Yuan was fired from her job in November 2000 for refusing to give up her belief. She detailed in her criminal complaint how Falun Gong returned her to health, but the persecution broke up her family, cost her her job, and was responsible for her numerous arrests and torture.

Key Facts

Ms. Yuan Xiaojie started practicing Falun Gong in August 1996. Soon after, all her illnesses—chronic nasopharyngitis, allergic rhinitis, adnexitis, and asthma—disappeared. She also became a much kinder and more tolerant and considerate person. Life could not be happier for her and her family.

Family Broken up, Pushed out from Work

On the second day of Jiang’s persecution of Falun Gong, July 21, 1999, Ms. Yuan appealed for justice to the local government in Dalian. For doing this, she was publicly chastised at her workplace.

Her husband was put under enormous pressure and harassment by his workplace simply because his wife refused to write a “guarantee” to renounce her belief. When he could not take it any more, he divorced Ms. Yuan.

Their son was was eight years old at the time. He took custody of their son and Ms. Yuan was not allowed to see her son for a long time. When she managed to see him, he said, “Mom, I forgot what you looked like!”

Her workplace tried to prevent her from going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was given more work than she could possibly handle.

In November 2000, Ms. Yuan was forced to resign. She did whatever temporary work she could find, and had no work for long stretches. Life was very hard.

Shackled to Rings Fixed to Bed Boards for Six Days Straight

Ms. Yuan was detained in Dalian Detention Center in 2001. She refused to wear a prison uniform because her detention was illegal. As punishment, sometime in April or May, police officer Lü Yimei and others shackled her to rings fixed to bed boards and kept Ms. Yuan this way for six days in a row. She could not sleep or use the toilet. Her hands and feet became badly swollen.

Torture re-enactment: Chained to ground rings

Police directed prison inmates to give her a brutal beating on June 1, 2002 for the same reason. They slapped her in the face, pulled her hair, and punched and kicked her violently.

“Stretching” Torture at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Yuan was tortured with “stretching” three times while being detained in the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

She was subjected to another cruel torture in December of 2010. The perpetrators cuffed her hands to the frames of two bunk beds, and then pulled the beds apart until her arms could be pulled no further. The handcuffs cut into her flesh and rubbed against her bones, causing excruciating pain and agony. Her hands turned purple and swelled up.

Division 3 leader Zhang Jun and five other female police cuffed one of Ms. Yuan’s hands to a higher bed frame, and the other hand to a lower frame. Then the six policewomen pulled the two beds as far apart as they could.

“I was sweating all over due to the unbearable pain. The cuffs cut into my hands and I felt as if my bones were about to break. The pain was so excruciating that one would rather die,” Ms. Yuan said in her complaint.

Torture re-enactment: Stretched and forced to stand in awkward position

The torture badly injured Ms. Yuan’s arms and legs. For nearly a year she could not walk properly. Her hands looked black and blue and she could not carry anything heavy for a long time.

Ms. Yuan was subjected to the “stretching” torture two more times for refusing to renounce her belief, once in April or May of 2011, and again in July of the same year.

Division 3 deputy leader Zhang Huan, Zhang Lei, and Zhang Xiurong tied Ms. Yuan’s legs to the lower frame of bunk bed, and then cuffed her hands and tied them to the corners of the upper frame.

Torture re-enactment: Stretched and forced to stand in awkward position

“My arms were stretched to the extreme. The whole weight of my body fell on the cuffed wrists. The cuffs became tighter and tighter and my whole body was in unbearable pain. I was dripping with sweat. They stretched me this way for five or six hours. When I was finally released, I could not move my back or legs for a long time due to the pain,” Ms. Yuan said in her complaint.

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang’s directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.

Australian Legislative Member: “I Stand with You in the Fight for Freedom and Justice for All”

July 29, 2015 | By Mu Wenqing, Minghui Correspondent in Perth

( Falun Gong practitioners in Western Australia held activities in front of the Chinese Consulate in Perth and the downtown Chinese Visa Application Service Center on July 20, 2015, marking 16 years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and calling for an end to the persecution.

Mr. Peter Abetz, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), sent a letter of support to the Falun Gong group for their efforts to commemorate 16 years of peaceful resistance. He wrote in his letter, “Freedom is a priceless commodity. It is more precious than gold. Often it is most valued only once it has been removed.

“I commend all those who gathered here today to take a stand for the freedomof the Chinese people, to practice whatever faith or religious practice theywish to follow.

“To persecute a subset of a nation because they follow a particular practicesuch as Falun Gong is abhorrent to all who value freedom. And to useprisoners for harvesting organs defies every standard of human decency.

“I stand with you in the fight for freedom and justice for all.”

Practitioners expose the persecution in front of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center.

Videos About Falun Dafa Were Very Popular at a Fair in China

July 29, 2015 | By a Falun Dafa practitioner from China

( My boss and colleagues participated in a trade fair in southern China last month.

To attract customers and promote our business, my boss asked the staff to download some American movies and play them at the fair. However, none of them would work.

My boss took my colleague’s computer and searched for programs himself. He accidentally opened a video file that gave information about Falun Dafa, and it was the only file working at the time. It was one that I had downloaded for my colleague to watch.

My boss used to live in the United States, and appeared to accept Falun Dafa. Therefore, the video about Dafa was played at the fair for two days. According to my colleague, our booth was packed and our boss deemed the event to be a success.
