–Young Woman from Gansu Province Files Criminal Charges Against Jiang Zemin
July 16, 2015
(Minghui.org) Ms. He Xiaoyan is a small business owner from Ning County in Gansu Province. She has been discriminated against at school and in her workplace because of her belief in Falun Gong. She recently filed criminal charges at the Supreme People’s Procuratorate against Jiang Zemin, former leader of the Chinese Communist Party, for launching the persecution against Falun Gong.
She states that, “Jiang launched and directed the persecution against Falun Gong and spread lies slandering the practice. Countless people have been deceived and officials of the Public Security System in China committed horrible crimes because of it. I owe it to the world’s people to sue Jiang Zemin.”
Discriminated Based on Her Beliefs
Ms. He started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. When the persecution started, the local police went to her home and harassed her father, who is also a practitioner. They eventually arrested her father and conducted an unwarranted search of their house.
Ms. He, only 15s year old at the time, had to take care of her mentally ill mother and a younger brother.
The local police also went to her middle school to threaten Ms. He. Together with her principal and homeroom teacher, they tried to coerce her into writing a guarantee statement saying that she would not practice Falun Gong again.
To escape the pressure, Ms. He tried to transfer to a different school at the beginning of 9th grade, but was rejected once the principal found out she practiced Falun Gong.
Ms. He went on to attend a technical school after middle school. After her teacher found out that Ms. He practiced Falun Gong, she assigned students to monitor her at her dorm.
To their surprise, the teachers and students quickly discovered that Ms. He was a nice and likable person, not at all like what the CCP propaganda told them to expect.
Six months after working at a chemical plant in Cangzhou City in 2005, Ms. He’s manager threatened to fire her if she didn’t renounce her beliefs. The next day, Ms. He told him that she would rather resign. Not wanting to let go of such a hard-working employee, the manager asked her to stay.
Ms. He’s application for a passport was rejected in 2010 because of her beliefs and her trip to Hong Kong had to be canceled.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang’s directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
