(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. The momentum of this new wave of lawsuits against the former Chinese dictator is on the rise.
The Minghui website receives copies of criminal complaints against Jiang from many practitioners daily. In this report, we present a snapshot of some of the practitioners whose copies of lawsuits were received by Minghui on July 27, 2015.
These lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People’s Court and Supreme People’s Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, as of a recent ruling by the Supreme People’s Court.
Neither Old nor Young Can Escape the Brutal Persecution
These lawsuits involve, among others, a practitioner over 80 and young teenagers when the persecution began.
The young girls witnessed the arrest and torture of their parents. One, 12, was sent to a brainwashing center without her parents. The other lost her father to the persecution.
Case 1: Mr. Sun Changrui (孙常瑞)
Hometown: Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province
Date filed: July, 2015
Mr. Sun Changrui, 85, has been arrested six times. His home was ransacked seven times in the past 15 years.
His family was under great stress, which contributed to his once-healthy wife falling ill. She threatened her husband with divorce many times and considered ending her life.
Case 2: Ms. Li Juan (李娟)
Profession: Manager of a private company
Hometown: Anhua County, Hunan Province
Date filed: July 6, 2015
Ms. Li Juan’s lawsuit also described the communist regime’s mistreatment of her parents.
Ms. Li’s father, Mr. Li Mengxian was arrested four times and tortured in detention. He was sentenced to forced labor twice, for one year and 15 months. His workplace lowered his salary and denied his bonus.
When Mr. Li Mengxian was last arrested on June 6, 2009, he was beaten during interrogation so badly that blood dripped from his ears, noses, eyes and mouth.
The labor camp refused to admit him due to his extremely high blood pressure. He was then sent to a hospital, where he was injected with an unknown drug and sent home the same night, after which his gums rotted, his teeth became loose, and his urine turned an abnormal color. He also showed signs of internal injuries. He died on June 9, 2011, at the age of 49.
Ms. Li’s mother, Ms. Long Ximei, was arrested three times. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor after her last arrest on June 6, 2009.
This all began for Ms. Li Juan when she was 11 years old. She witnessed and was traumatized by her father’s arrest in 2001 when she was 13. She was left to care for herself at 13 when both parents were under detention.
Local 610 Office officials and the local police interrogated her while she was in middle school. School administrators tried to make her to sign letters to give up her practice of Falun Gong. She has lived under fear and stress for the past 16 years.
Case 3: Ms. Nan Zhenxin (南振欣)
Profession: Former government employee of Qingzhou City Tax Bureau
Hometown: Qingzhou City, Shandong Province
Date filed: Not specified
Ms. Nan was arrested six times and sent to a forced labor camp once, but was released due to high blood pressure.
Her husband and 12-year-old daughter were arrested together with her in October 2002 and taken to a detention center. Police tortured her father in front of her. She was later sent to a brainwashing center alone, threatened, and deprived of sleep. She was released a month later after her family was extorted out of 1,000 yuan.
Agents from the local 610 Office sent Ms. Nan to the brainwashing center after her arrest in 2014. She was beaten, deprived of sleep continuously for almost two weeks, and pinched forcefully on her sensitive body parts. She lost consciousness several times. She was on the verge of death after a month and was released. Her face was no longer recognizable.
Both Ms. Nan and her husband were government employees. However, both were fired from their jobs because they practice Falun Gong. Her husband was arrested in 2012 and was sentenced to one year of forced labor.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang’s directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
