(Minghui.org) The World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences was held in the Convention Centre Dublin, Ireland, from August 31 to September 5, 2013.

Over 3,000 pharmaceutical and medical experts from around the world came together to discuss the growing complexity of patient care, innovative treatments and medicines, and cross-professional care.

Among the attendees were nearly 200 medical professionals from China, including many deans and senior medical personnel from the General Logistics Department of the military.

At the opening day ceremony, Falun Gong practitioners in Ireland distributed hundreds of copies of the 2013 special edition of Minghui International in English and Chinese. They also handed out beautiful paper lotus flower bookmarks with the words, “Falun Dafa Is Good” printed on them. Several hundred atttendees entered the conference hall with small lotus flowers and a copy of Minghui in hand.

The special edition of Minghui contained information about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

Attendees accept lotus flowers and Organ Harvesting Special Editions.

Since the CCP’s practice of illegal organ harvesting was first made public in 2006, the Party has been trying to refute the evidence of its crimes, but to no avail.

Many Chinese medical professionals attended the conference, and practitioners made sure to reach out to them and let them know the facts.

One Chinese official said that he already gotten the information but did not know if it was true. Citing the book Bloody Harvest: Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China, a practitioner explained, “Before 1999, there were only a few hundred organ transplants done in China each year. After 1999 when the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong, from 2000 to 2005, according to official data, within just six years there were more than 60,000 organ transplants. Where did this huge supply of organs for transplant come from?”

The official nodded and said, “It’s difficult to explain those numbers. When I go back I’ll read over the materials you’ve given me carefully.”

Some Chinese attendees were very interested in learning more about the organ harvesting allegations and even asked for informational materials to take back with them. There were also some who wanted to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Although a considerable number of the Chinese attendees did not dare to take the materials distributed by practitioners, several Chinese practitioners overhead the Chinese officials talking about what a bad reputation the CCP has around the world.

During the Dafa exercise demonstrations, many people came over to the practitioners’ table to pick up fliers and sign a petition to help stop the persecution. Some even wanted to learn Falun Gong.

A pharmacist from Oman took a copy of Minghui with him. He not only read it very carefully, he also visited the FalunDafa.org website and read a lot of related information.

On the final day of the conference, a practitioner answered his questions about how to learn Falun Gong, then taught him the first and fifth exercises. The pharmacist said, “When I go home I’ll watch the exercise instruction DVD and read the Dafa books.”

Ms. Jiang Xiaoyan On the Brink of Death after Torture at Heilongjiang Women’s Prison (Photo)

September 30, 2013 | By a Minghui correspondent from Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Jiang Xiaoyan, a 54-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, was illegally sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment. As a result of the persecution she has suffered at the Heilongjiang Women’ Prison, she has become severely anemic and developed a large tumor in her abdomen. Although she is on the brink of death, the prison refuses to release her.

Ms. Jiang is a resident of Shuangcheng City. She was arrested on the afternoon of November 13, 2011, when police arrested over 50 practitioners in Harbin and Shuangcheng cities.

Several officers from the Mingzhu Police Station, including Pan Hongmin, participated in the arrest of Ms. Jiang. Wang Yubiao and Xiao Jitian from the Shuangcheng Police Department, as well as some officers from Harbin, interrogated Ms. Jiang via torture.

Subsequently, the authorities sentenced her to 14 years of imprisonment and sent her to the Heilongjiang Women’s Prison.

Prison Refuses to Release Ms. Jiang for Medical Treatment

Before she began to practice Falun Gong, Ms. Jiang suffered from uterine fibroids and colorectal cancer. She was critically ill. After practicing Falun Gong, she felt reborn and her cancer was cured without treatment. She strictly followed Falun Gong’s main principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in her daily life, and for more than a decade, she did not take a single pill.

After her arrest and severe torture, however, her health drastically declined and she developed anemia.

During their visits, her family observed that Ms. Jiang looked pale, had no strength and could not say more than a few sentences. Her family negotiated with the prison officials several times before they agreed to send Ms. Jiang for a physical examination. The doctors at the provincial hospital confirmed that she was anemic.

Ms. Jiang’s family went to see her in prison again in July 2013. They could tell that her condition had deteriorated and were afraid that her life might be in danger. They went to see the prison director and section leader to request her release. Both officials and police in charge told them that Ms. Jiang could not be released on medical parole.

In early July, Ms. Jiang’s family saw that her face was even more pale and swollen than before. She could not see clearly with her left eye and was on the verge of collapse after uttering just a few sentences.

According to the prison health records, the tumor in Ms. Jiang’s stomach increased from 98×85 units in March to 105×115 units in July. Her other tumors also enlarged significantly.

The prison subsequently contacted her family to come to the prison, but did not allow them to see Ms. Jiang. Division head Ji and team head Wang sent two guards to take the family to an empty warehouse. There, the guards pressured the family to sign an undisclosed document. The family refused.

The guards took videos of the family and treated them arrogantly. Ms. Jiang’s family suspected that Ms. Jiang was dying and the prison was trying to shirk the responsibility.

The family plans to press charges against Heilongjiang Women’ Prison, prison head Shi Genghui, head of the prison hospital, division head Ji, and team head Wang if something happens to Ms. Jiang. They are demanding her unconditional, immediate release.

Excellent Teacher Arrested and Sent to Hegang Brainwashing Center

September 30, 2013 | By a Minghui correspondent in Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Yue was illegally arrested at his workplace around 8 a.m. on August 13, 2013. Boli County 610 Office head Zhao Pengfei, He Wei and six other officers, in collusion with officials from the Boli County Education Department and Boli County No. 7 High School, forcibly took him into custody and then transferred him to the Hegang Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Wang, 51, was a teacher at the Boli County No. 7 High School. He taught 12th-grade mathematics and was known to treat his students with care and attention.

Many teachers did not give students all of the necessary information in class, but held additional sessions after school to make money off students. Mr. Wang never did that; he worked hard to pass on his knowledge to his students in class and was thus well-liked by the students. To express their appreciation, some graduates sent him a special plaque that said, “The grace from you is unforgettable.”

After the communist regime began to persecute Falun Gong, however, this excellent and beloved teacher was dismissed from his teaching position.

In 2007, due to the pressure from their supervisors, school officials transferred him to work as a meal-card cashier. Mr. Wang did not complain. He worked conscientiously and did his job well.

Moreover, he saved the school over 1,900 yuan. Each year, many high school seniors leave 5 to 10 yuan on their meal cards upon graduation, never coming back to get the money. Instead of putting the money into his pocket, Mr. Wang submitted it to Zhang Fengchun, director of the Logistics Office. Zhang was quite moved and said: “No other cashier has ever done this before. You have saved the school so much money, but you ask for nothing.”

Although Mr. Wang helped the school to this extent, school head Shi Fansheng terminated his position as a cashier and transferred him to work in the mailroom on August 9, 2013.

Shortly thereafter, on the first day of the new semester, Zhao Pengfei and other officers broke into his workplace and forcibly took him into custody.

Mr. Wang’s family was not informed of his whereabouts following the arrest. Shi Fansheng only told them that he had been sent to a brainwashing center in another city.

It wasn’t until August 30 that his family finally learned that Mr. Wang was incarcerated in the Hegang Brainwashing Center.

No One Can Escape Responsibility for the Bad Things They Have Done

September 30, 2013 | By Xinhu

(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) often proclaims itself as saintly but its actions suggest something far different. In particular, it often issues pious sentiments, while committing the most dastardly deeds. It is often customary for the CCP to create a scapegoat to bear any blame that it should bear itself.

An article titled, “The Central Political and Legal Affairs Committee: Police, Procuratorate and Court Will Be Held Accountable for the Duration of Their Life for the Outcomes of the Cases They Handle” was published on all major websites in China on or about August 12, 2013.

This article’s message is similar to the following quote from the “Advisory on Earnestly Preventing Unjust, False and Erroneous Cases,” recently released by the CCP’s Central Political and Legal Affairs Committee:

“In order to establish a responsible and just system of handling cases, those who hold positions of authority, such as collegial panels, judges, prosecutors and police, will hold responsibility for their behavior during their employment by the state for their entire life. The standards for unjust, false and erroneous cases need to be clarified, and the legal procedures to handle such corruption need to be stated clearly, along with a clear system of punishment for those who commit such acts. Stern actions will be taken against any activities such as extorting confessions by torture, resorting to violence to obtain testimony, or concealing or fabricating evidence.”

On one hand, the CCP utilizes its public security organs (e.g., police, Procuratorate and court) to persecute innocent people. On the other hand, it places the personnel in these public security organs as scapegoats for all of the criminal acts devised by the CCP.

During the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners over the past 14 years, the CCP’s police, Procuratorate offices and courts have instigated numerous unjust, false and erroneous cases.

Today, the CCP is facing the difficulty of maintaining its power. In order to deceive the public and maintain the last grasp of its despotic tyranny, it now intends to discard nonessential personnel in the public security organs, using them as scapegoats for all of its crimes against humanity.

Since October 1999, the legal basis on which the public security organs have convicted innocent Falun Gong practitioners has included the following doctrines devised by the CCP: “Ministry of Public Security Announcement,” “Ministry of Civil Affairs Announcement,” “Judicial Interpretations” and “Judicial Interpretations II.”

However, none of these “announcements” and “interpretations” have gone through the legal endorsement process of the People’s Congress, so they are simply administrative documents. Empowering these administrative documents with law enforcement power is unlawful in itself.

On April 9, 2005, six years after the persecution of Falun Gong was first launched, the Ministry of Public Security released “Announcement on the Issues Related to the Identification and Banning of Evil Religious Organizations” (document [2005]39). In this announcement, the ministry stated that 14 organizations were identified as “evil cults.” Falun Gong was not mentioned.

In fact, no law exists under which the persecution of Falun Gong in China could be considered legal.

The CCP’s Political and Legal Affairs Committee and 610 Office specialize in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, manipulating police departments throughout China to arrest Falun Gong practitioners and pressuring the courts to illegally sentence Falun Gong practitioners.

The CCP’s legal system is not independent. When it comes to Falun Gong in particular, the legal system is instead little more than a tool employed by the CCP to persecute the masses. Charges and terms of penalty are predetermined by the 610 Office and the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. The judge is only a puppet of the CCP. The court hearing only feigns sincerity to deceive the public.

The charge the courts routinely use to convict Falun Gong practitioners is the so-called “300th Article of Criminal Code”–namely, the “crime of sabotaging legal enforcement by organizing and using an evil religion.”

Falun Gong teaches people compassion and tolerance, and people are always free to decide whether to practice or not. It has nothing to do with an evil religion. In fact, China’s official list of “evil religions” does not include Falun Gong.

The CCP persecutes innocent people and utilizes all state-run media to spread false propaganda to brainwash the public. Thus, the CCP itself is an evil cult in a true sense.

The courts have never pointed out what particular law bans Falun Gong, or how Falun Gong has “sabotaged legal enforcement.” The truth is that the CCP has manipulated the courts to twist the laws to persecute innocent people. It is thus the CCP that has sabotaged the legal system.

Today, the CCP is at its wits’ end, as its days of power are numbered. Hence, it is now trying to attribute all of its atrocious crimes against humanity to the personnel of the public security organs, so as to escape all responsibility.

This is the same ruse it used after the decade of terror of the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). At that time, the very popular Liu Chuanxin, director of Beijing Police Department, was said to have “committed suicide for fear of his punishment.”

Then, 793 policemen and 17 military officers who had been loyal to the CCP’s “Red Line” were gathered in Yunnan Province and secretly executed, while their families were told that they had died in line of duty.

The CCP perpetrators of the Cultural Revolution may have thought that they had narrowly escaped the blame at the end of the Cultural Revolution. However, no one can escape universal justice. As is often said in the West, “What goes around, comes around,” and this held equally true for the evildoers of the Cultural Revolution.

The atrocities committed by the CCP have been mounting ever higher and higher, but none can escape ultimate responsibility for what they have done.

For the public security personnel who have been taken advantage of and will soon be deserted by the CCP, the only righteous thing left to do is to stand up for justice and disclose all evidence of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong. They need to look out for themselves, since the Party won’t be doing it for them.

Dark Secrets Behind Flashy Merchandise (Part 1) – Slave Labor Products by Sichuan Province Women’s Prison

September 13, 2013 | By a Falun Gong practitioner in Sichuan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Colorful butterflies; cute beetles; adorable puppies and kittens; eye-pleasing apples, bananas, and grapes; and cartoon images decorate beaded handbags and backpacks for teenage girls and ladies. But how many people know the sad story behind these beautiful products?

For practicing Falun Gong, the communist regime sentenced me to Sichuan Province Women’s Prison in Yangmahe Town, Jianyang City. The above images are copies of designs we used to make beaded bags in prison. I secretly traced the patterns on carbon paper while making the products. According to a technician sent by a manufacturer to assist production and quality inspection, these bags were for export only.

No one knows for sure what percentage of the made-in-China merchandise is produced by slave laborers in prisons. While incarcerated, I worked on a number of jobs: inserting real hair into a rubber scalp; making shoe heels; making paper boxes for moon cakes, and making envelopes. We were forced to work extended hours for days without a break. One inmate was so tired that she pierced her finger with the sewing machine needle. These jobs usually had a deadline, so we were forced to work day and night. Those who were old or weak were ordered to do simple jobs such as knitting, making embroidered insoles, and making fireworks.

After my earlier arrest at the end of 1999 in Chengdu City, I was sent to Ningxia Street Detention Center. I shared a cell with about 40 people and it was so packed that we could only sleep on our sides like sardines. People had to sleep next to the toilet and under the bed. The place was filthy and humid. Even in such a dirty place, we were forced to make dry tofu bundles with toothpicks and sausages for hot pot. We made candies, assembled medical syringes, and made plastic bags for chemical fertilizer.

We worked long hours. The plastic bags were very dirty and smelled awful. The workplace was dusty and the chemical dust made it hard to breathe and caused rashes on the skin.
