(Clearwisdom.net) Huang Qiang is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengdu City. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) central government released a blacklist of key practitioners at all levels of local government to be targeted for persecution, Mr. Huang was on the list. He was arrested earlier this year and taken to a brainwashing center. He is currently on the verge of death as a result of abuse suffered while in detention.

On July 23, 2011 Mr. Huang was talking to people about Falun Gong when police officers from the nearby Xinhua Park Police Station in Chengdu arrested him. He was taken to the brainwashing center in Xinjin County of Chengdu. Mr. Huang began a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

The brainwashing center, also called the “Law Enforcement Education Center of Chengdu,” is located in Caiwan, Huaqiao Town, Xinjin County, Chengdu. It was built with a budget of over 5 million yuan on the site of the former research institute of the Chinese Air Force. The brainwashing center authorities arrest Falun Gong practitioners, try to deceive them with lies, subject them to physical punishment, inject them with harmful drugs that damage the central nervous system, mix harmful drugs into practitioners’ food and water, and force-feed practitioners. They extort practitioners for money, and harass and threaten them in attempts to force them to renounce Falun Gong. The intense persecution at the brainwashing center has caused practitioners to suffer mental breakdowns and become physically disabled, and several have died.

Last year, as Mr. Huang Qiang was distributing Falun Gong DVDs, he was arrested, detained and tortured by the local authorities. As a direct result of a savage beating, his gallbladder failed. After he underwent surgery, the authorities released him.

Mr. Huang started practicing Falun Gong when he was in college. After he started to work, he conducted himself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance, worked diligently and treated others with compassion and kindness. His coworkers had good things to say about him and went to visit him during his detention.

The 610 Office, an organization instituted to persecute Falun Gong, has established many brainwashing centers across the country. Superficially, these centers have the label of “law enforcement education” when they actually persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Brainwashing center authorities don’t go through legal procedures before they arrest and brainwash practitioners, and the periods of detention have no time limit.

In the past 12 years, the 610 Office branch within the Chengdu City Police Department’s National Security Team has been secretly persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. They have very detailed information about practitioners in all districts and counties of Chengdu and throughout Sichuan Province. They follow practitioners and monitor their phone calls, deploy large numbers of police officers to arrest practitioners, and manipulate police stations, prosecutors and courts to detain, imprison and sentence practitioners to forced labor terms. The 610 Office is responsible for most of the deaths of practitioners in Chengdu.

Currently Mr. Huang Qiang is on the verge of death as a result of persecution at the Xinjin County Brainwashing Center. We appeal to the international community to pay attention to this issue and make every effort to rescue him.

Two Practitioners in Their 60s from the Zhongyuan Oil Field in Puyang City, Henan Province Arrested and Detained

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhongyuan Oil Field 610 Office agents in Puyang City, Henan Province recently broke into six practitioners’ homes. They ransacked the houses and took away the practitioners’ computers, printers, Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Two practitioners in their 60s were taken to the Puyang City Detention Center.

On the afternoon of November 30, the Zhongyuan Oil Field 610 Office agents broke into the residence of Mr. Cheng Dajin, an employee at the Transportation Company. They searched his home and turned everything upside down in order to find Falun Gong books. The police ransacked Mr. Cheng’s home twice, but didn’t find what they wanted. Mr. Cheng is currently in the Puyang City Detention Center.

Mr. Cheng Dajin, in his 60s, conducts himself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and is always considerate of others. He was arrested in 2008 and held in a detention center. He was later sentenced to three years in prison, with four years probation. Mr. Cheng is now once again being held in a detention center.

In addition, another practitioner in his 60s from the Transportation Company of the Oil Field was arrested and had his home ransacked days ago. He is also in the Puyang City Detention Center.

We have learned that more than 20 agents from the Oil Field 610 Office ransacked a female practitioner’s home.

Persecution Suffered by Ms. Cong Peilan

The head of the Domestic Security Division in Yuanbaoshan Police Department Liu Weimin and others arrested more than twenty Falun Gong practitioners from the Pingzhuang area on February 2, 2001. They included Ms. Wang Xiuyun, Ms. Gao Shuqin, Ms. Shi Yurong and Ms. Cong Peilan. The practitioners were taken to the meeting room at the police department, where Ms. Cong talked to the police about Falun Gong and exposed the staged self immolation on Tiananmen Square. The deputy chief of Yuanbaoshan Police Department Yang Zhenyuan, the head of Xilutian Police Station Yang Xiaohui, Liang Yujin and others were in the room at the time. Liu Weimin dragged Ms. Cong out into the hallway, and then beat and swore at her. Ms. Cong was detained at Yuanbaoshan Detention Center for several months, before being transferred to Hohhot Women’s Forced Labor Camp. She was later released.

Ms. Cong was arrested again on August 21, 2011, and was detained at Yuanbaoshan Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest her arrest. She is in critical condition, and she has been taken to the hospital twice for urgent treatment.

Ms. Song Xiaofang Beaten and Suffers Concussion

Officers from the Songshan District, Mujiaying Town Police Station illegally arrested Ms. Sun Xiaofang on November 20, 2005. Three male officers interrogated her. One of them was extremely vicious, and she was soaked in sweat from the brutal beatings. The police ransacked Ms. Sun’s home, but failed to find what they were looking for. So they tortured her and tried to get her to make a false confession. Ms. Sun did not yield, and was taken to Chifeng Detention Center the next day.

Practitioners at Chifeng Detention Center were forced to process beans, and they were assigned a work quota. A practitioner in her 70s asked one of the guards if she would also be given a work quota since she was too old to work. A guard with the surname Jiang said that others of such an age did not need to do it, but those who practice Falun Gong are an exception. Processing beans sometimes lasted until 2 a.m. In the freezing winter, people’s legs were very cold and numb, and their eyes were dry and blurry. After only a few hours of rest, they were forced to resume work again.

Some practitioners got up to do the Falun Gong exercises one night. When the guards saw it on a monitor, one of them banged on the cell window and yelled that no Falun Gong exercises were allowed. The next morning, the practitioners were summoned outside. The guards swore at them, then handcuffed them to the heater pipes high up on the wall, with their feet barely touching the ground. Later a female guard Wang Lizhi came and took the practitioners to another place. Two male guards, one with the surname Miao, the other Liu. took turns to shock the practitioners with electric batons. One of the practitioners clenched her teeth from the pain and accidentally bit her tongue, leaving a deep cut. It took a long time for her wound to heal.

Torture re-enactment: handcuffed and hung up

After being severely tortured in the detention center, Ms. Sun was taken to a hospital, where she was found to have concussion. She was released about a week later, but was left bed-ridden at home. Both her legs were swollen and stiff. It took a month or so for her to recover. Yet the police never stopped harassing her. Later, Ms. Sun had to move away from her home to avoid further persecution. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.
