Forced Organ Harvesting Crimes Exposed at UN Human Rights Meeting–Chinese Delegation Attempts to Interfere (Photos)

(Minghui.org) The 24th Regular Session of the Human Rights Council was held in Geneva, Switzerland on September 19-27, 2013. Spanish human rights lawyer Mr. Carlos Iglesias, from the United Towns Agency for North-South Cooperation, a NGO, attended. He was invited to make a statement at the general debate of the 33rd meeting held on the morning of September 26.

Mr. Iglesias pointed out that the former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin allegedly plotted and organized a set of policies to eliminate tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners.

In his September 26 speech, Mr. Iglésias pointed out that in April 1999 before the politburo, Jiang Zemin gave three strict and destructive instructions, “Ruin their [Falun Gong practitioners] reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically.” Afterward began the arrests, detainment in forced labor camps, torture, and murder of tens of thousands of innocent people in China.

Mr. Iglésias was rudely interrupted twice by the Chinese delegates during his speech. With the support from delegates of ten countries, he was able to finish speaking.

Mr. Remigiusz Henczel, president of the Human Rights Council, presided over the general debate of the 33rd meeting on the morning of September 26. As the lawyer for the Falun Gong group, which has been subjected to the Chinese Communist Party’s genocidal persecution, Mr. Carlos Iglésias was invited to make a statement.

He pointed out that since Jiang Zemin mandated three strict instructions before the politburo in April 1999, that is, ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically, tens of thousands of innocent people have been arrested, detained in forced labor camps, tortured, and murdered.

Mr. Iglésias said, “Independent reports by former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific David Kilgour and human rights lawyer David Matas provide clues and verifiable evidence, and also the United Nation’s Special Rapporteur on Torture Mr. Manfred Nowak openly request the investigation by the international community these terrible crimes [of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners].”

His statement was interrupted twice by the Chinese delegate. This was the second time Chinese delegates rudely attempted to stop a speaker representing Falun Gong. Their first unsuccessful attempt was during a September 19 meeting.

This time the Chinese delegate struck the table with the card on which the country’s name is written. He demanded that the president stop Mr. Iglésias from speaking. His discourteous behavior displeased representatives from ten countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Germany, Norway, Estonia, and the Netherlands.

They expressed their support for Mr. Iglésias, and advised that President Mr. Remigiusz Henczel allow Mr. Iglésias to finish his speech. The president thanked the delegates for their comments and advice, and said, “This statement will surely become the longest 2-minute statement in the history of the council. I already made my position very clear. I’m therefore giving back the floor to the NGO, and ask the delegate to follow my ruling.”

Spanish Human Rights Lawyer’s Appeal

Mr. Iglésias concluded his statement by saying, “I appeal to the international community and High Commissioner for Human Rights to expose the truth about this so they can carry out independent investigations into organ trafficking, and live organ harvesting in China. This terrible crime has to be investigated, perpetrators have to be brought to trial, and all those who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong should be investigated.”

First Mention of Jiang Zemin During a United Nations Meeting

The Epoch Times first exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s crimes of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in March 2006. This is the fourth time that a NGO representative has openly put forward the allegations of the CCP’s live organ harvesting in the United Nations’ Human Rights Council. Mr. Iglésias’s speech is noteworthy because it was the first time that former CCP head Jiang Zemin was mentioned as the chief culprit in this human rights tragedy.

Background: Jiang Zemin has been sued for anti-humanity, genocide, and torture in 17 countries and regions, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

There are numerous lawsuits in many countries around the world against Jiang and his followers who persecute Falun Gong, charging the perpetrators with genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity, holding the CCP officials accountable for what they have done.

Disabled Man Cuffed to Hospital Bed after Being Arrested

(Minghui.org) Having lost his feet eleven years ago as a result of gross abuse and torture by police officers, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Xinchun, 37, was arrested again at his rental home in Qiaobei, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, on the evening of September 9, 2013. The police ransacked his home and confiscated several Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. They also arrested his mother.

Mr. Wang is being held in room 301 of the Jinshantun District Hospital in Yichun City. He is cuffed to a bed and being monitored by police officers. When his family visited him and shook him several times, he could barely open his eyes. His face was bruised and swollen and his arms were scratched in several places. He hadn’t eaten anything since being admitted to the hospital. He reacted a little when he was first getting injections, but he no longer responds because has fallen into a coma.

Mr. Wang, born in 1976, is from the Jinshantun District, Yichun City. Since the Chinese communist regime started the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Wang and his family have been arrested, detained, and fined many times, for simply adhering to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Mr. Wang was tortured and beaten dozens of times even after he became disabled. His father passed away after being harassed and threatened. His mother was sentenced to forced labor twice and tortured in a labor camp.

Falun Gong Practitioners from Shanghai Illegally Sentenced Again

Ms. Yuan Xiaolan and Ms. Zhang Xiaoying from Shanghai were tried at the Shanghai Huangpu District Court and illegally sentenced, Ms. Yuan to five in prison and Ms. Zhang to four years, on August 13, 2013. Both of them had been previously sentenced to six-year prison terms in 2003.

Ms. Yuan, former assistant at the Falun Gong practice site in Shanghai, and Ms. Zhang were arrested on January 19, 2013, by officers Hu Jianjian and He Wenrong from the East Nanjing Road Police Station, for putting up truth-clarification posters at the intersection of South Suzhou Road and Xinqiao Road in the Jiangti District. They were taken to the police station by officer Zhang Jianwei of the Domestic Security Division. Their case, which was submitted by officials of the Huangpu Domestic Security Division, was rejected by the Procuratorate due to “insufficient evidence.”

Ms. Yuan’s mother, who is in her 90s, went to the Huangpu District Domestic Security Division many times and asked that her daughter be released. Instead of releasing Ms. Yuan, the officials made up “evidence” and submitted the case again.

Ms. Yuan and Ms. Zhang have been repeatedly persecuted. Ms. Yuan was arrested and forced to go through brainwashing in 2001. In 2003, she was sentenced to six and a half years in prison and incarcerated at the Shanghai Women’s Prison until she was released in 2009. Since then, she has been the primary caregiver for her elderly mother. Her most recent arrest and sentence have caused the family a lot of grief.

Ms. Zhang was arrested in 2003 by police officers from the Zhabei District. She was tried and sentenced to six years in prison by the Zhabei District Court. She also served her term in the Shanghai Women’s Prison. Her recent sentence to four years in prison is undoubtedly another blow to her family.

A large number of Falun Gong practitioners from Shanghai have been illegally arrested, charged, tried, and sentenced in the first six months of 2013. The following is a list of practitioners and their prison terms: Ms. Zhang Yi was sentenced to four and a half years, Ms. Hu Zhongtian to three and a half years, Ms. Yuan Hongying (an elderly lady) to three and a half years, Ms. Rong Huijun to four years, Ms. Li Meizhen to four years, Ms. Gao Qinmei to four years, Ms. Tong Xiaodi’s sentence is unknown, Mr. Zhou Chenghao to four years, Ms. Zhou Huijuan to three and a half years, Ms. Bai Gendi to six and a half years, Ms. Yao Yuhua to six years, and Ms. Zhou Shumei to four years.

Ms. Yuan and Ms. Zhang are currently incarcerated at the Huangpu District Detention Center.

German MP, ‘I Know About the Organ Harvesting, I’ll Sign’

(Minghui.org) On September 21, 2013, Falun Gong practitioners in Germany held another information activity in Freiburg, a well-known city in the southwest of Germany, to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) crime of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. They collected signatures to stop this atrocity.

Many residents and tourists alike stopped and read the information. They said that the forced organ harvesting is by no means a small matter, and must stopped as soon as possible.

After a medical student signed, he asked for a petition form in Swedish. He said he has dual citizenship in Germany and Sweden, “I will sign! We need more people to stand up and put a stop to this.”

A young couple came by and a practitioner asked if they would like to sign the petition. They asked if Falun Gong practitioners were being targeted. The practitioner said yes. They signed and said they received materials about the persecution in Switzerland. They said that it was necessary to expose the crime, and that the more exposure it gets, the sooner it will end, “You are doing the right thing, keep it up, it’s very important to us.”

German MP: ‘I know about the organ harvesting, I’ll sign’

Just before the German election last Saturday, many information booths had been set up by the major political parties along Freiburg’s streets, and all the MP’s from the area came to talk to their constituents. Practitioners visited their booths and told the candidates that hundreds of residents had signed the letter to their MP’s to call for an end to the CCP’s live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, so please pay attention to it. One German MP looked at the petition and said, “I know about the organ harvesting, I’ll sign.”

People Who Know the Facts Tell Others

One practitioner talked to a young German man. His English wasn’t very good and the practitioner’s German wasn’t very good either, so they had problems communicating. While this young man stood there, hesitant to sign the petition, a man came and said that he received some materials from this practitioner and signed the petition. He also mentioned that he took the materials home and carefully read them. He also did some research and is now pretty clear about the CCP’s atrocities. He spoke to the young man in German and carefully explained about the live organ harvesting in China. This young man attentively listened and kept nodding. Then he signed the petition, and sincerely thanks both the man and the practitioner.

The German man said that he believes what practitioners are saying about the CCP’s organ trafficking. He said, “My little brother had kidney problems. The doctor told him there were kidneys available, and asked him whether he wanted a kidney transplant.” He said the doctor mentioned the kidney wouldn’t come from Germany, right during the period of time when the Chinese organ transplant market was at its peak.

This German man said his neighbor was a politician and asked for a petition form to take home, as he wanted to ask his neighbor to sign. Before leaving, he also warmly invited the practitioner to visit his home.

Moroccan Lawyer: “It can be presumed that forced organ harvesting is the CCP’s normal behavior”

A middle-aged man walked around the English language display boards several times and read them several times. He said after signing: “I’m a lawyer in Morocco, I studied international law.” He said that he and his colleagues have paid attention to the live organ harvesting in China for a long time. He said, “Organ trafficking has taken place in many areas in the world, but these were sporadic, minor cases compared to the large scale major cases happening in China. I’m certain that the latter cases were conducted by the government. It involves large numbers of people being slaughtered. The CCP has committed the most serious crimes against humanity.”

He said, “I don’t have direct evidence to prove it’s done by the CCP, but looking at the analysis of the facts, it’s not difficult to come to this conclusion. Consider those that have been targeted – why is the regime focusing on Falun Gong, Xinjiang Uygur and Tibetan Buddhists groups? This is an obvious characteristic of genocide, just like the Nazi’s slaughter of the Jews. Moreover, it’s gone on for a long time, and there are always some cases in the news. The CCP is an iron-fisted regime, otherwise it wouldn’t be difficult to stop these terrible cases from happening!

“Under normal circumstances, these types of crimes would not be allowed to continue because they are so cruel, they have crossed the bottom line of human morality. Those involved in China are the army, the police, government hospitals and jails that have forcibly taken organs to do business, so aren’t these agencies governmental? After years of international public pressure, if up till now this thing has still not stopped, it can only mean that the government is involved, because individuals and any non-governmental organization cannot accomplish what has happened.

“There are many rich people in Morocco, and China’s ‘transplant tourism’ held a large scale marketing exhibition business directed at them. It showed that they have a large enough organ supply, enough for all the rich people in the world to get transplants, as long as they can afford it.”

“Please continue to appeal”

A Malaysian woman held her baby while she signed the petition and said, “These last couple of years I heard of organ trafficking, lost children, etc. through the Internet and the media. This world is unsafe and scary. But today this is the first time I learned that in China, it’s the government (CCP) involved in these atrocities, and they have killed a lot of people. This is even more horrible. The Chinese regime is the devil killing people, just unimaginable! For world peace, please continue to appeal until it’s completely stopped.”
