Ms. Gu Xinzhi Tortured to Death in 2002 — Family Files Lawsuit (Photo)

October 15, 2013 | By a Minghui correspondent in Sichuan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Gu Xingzhi, 64, resided in Miyi County, Sichuan Province. She died at around 8:00 a.m. on November 7, 2002 in Miyi Detention Center while she was still tied to the torture apparatus called the death bed. The police threatened her family to remain silent about her death.

Recently, Ms. Gu’s younger sister, Ms. Gu Xingfeng, decided to file a lawsuit against guards Zhu Chenglong, Lin Hai and doctor Cheng Qing, who were responsible for Ms Gu’s death.

Arrested and home ransacked

Ms. Gu was a farmer in the Seventh Commune of Huilong Village, Baima Township, Miyi County. She once asked her nephew to distribute Falun Gong fliers to his classmates on April 2, 2002. The classroom teacher saw what was happening and called the police.

Officers Yang Zhengfu, Shan Bo, Mao Taining and Wang Yingzhong from the Political and Security Department and Xiaojie Police Station broke into Mr. Gu’s home. They pushed her to the ground, stepped on her and grabbed her keys. They then proceeded to ransack the house and confiscated a tape recorder, all of her Falun Dafa books, a deposit slip for 8,000 yuan and 400 yuan in cash.

Tortured to death on a death bed

Ms. Gu was first held in Xiaojie Police Station, where she was beaten by Shan Bo, Mao Taining and Wang Yingzhong. Afterward, she was taken to the Miyi County Detention Center and was beaten by officers from the Political and Security Department and guards from the detention center.

Ms. Gu was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. But officials from the labor camp refused to accept her due to her age. She was then taken back to Miyi Detention Center, where she went on a hunger strike. The guards and medical staff force fed her for a month. Despite her being in critical condition, guards continued to torture her on the death bed.

Torture re-enactment: Death bed

A few people held Mr. Gu down on the death bed, while the detention center doctor used baby-delivery forceps to pry her mouth open. He then inserted a thick plastic tube through her nostril and fed her porridge down the tube. The force feeding punctured her lung, causing it to bleed and become infected.

Doctors from the county hospital and the Women and Children Health Center took turns going to the detention center to intravenously inject unknown drugs into Ms. Gu daily. Her condition turned critical in mid-October, so the detention center guards transferred her to the county hospital for emergency treatment.

Ms. Gu’s family members saw her condition and demanded that she be released on parole to receive medical treatment. However, this was rejected. Ms. Gu was unconscious by the morning of November 6, 2002. She was forced fed and then taken back to her cell in the detention center.

To prevent Ms. Gu from pulling out the feeding tube, her hands were cuffed behind the back and she was tied to the death bed for 24 hours while an inmate monitored her. Ms. Gu died on the death bed in Miyi Detention Center at around 8:00 a.m. on November 7, 2002.

Ms. Gu’s burial

Officials from Miyi County Police Department did not inform Ms. Gu’s family about her death until the evening of November 7. They claimed that she died from a stroke, and wanted to cremate her immediately.

Ms. Gu’s family insisted on taking her body back home for burial, but the police demanded that they sign police documents regarding the cause of death and threatened them not to reveal that she had died from torture in the detention center.

The police wanted Ms. Gu to be buried at a specified time, so three officers from the Political and Security Department and three people from the county government accompanied the family when taking the body home. They stayed until after the funeral on November 8 and prevented any practitioners from attending it.

Demanding justice

Ms. Gu Xingfeng stated in the court brief: “My sister believed in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which is by all means beneficial to the country, society and all people. How could she be guilty of anything?” She demanded that officials from Miyi County Court retry Ms. Gu’s case and arrest those responsible for her death, which included guard Li Hai and Doctor Chen Qing from the Miyi Detention Center.

Others responsible for the death of Ms. Gu Xingzhi include:
Xiang Jinfa, officer from the Political and Security Department of Miyi Police Department
Liu Taiming, director of Miyi Police Department: +86-812-8171988

Ms. Sheng Chunhua from Shandong Province Arrested and Persecuted for 15 Days

October 15, 2013 | By a Minghui correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) On January 24, 2013, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sheng Chunhua from Shahe Town, Laizhou City, Shandong Province, and Practitioner B were arrested by the police for clarifying the facts to locals at the market.

While Practitioner B managed to escape, Ms. Sheng was held in a detention center for 14 days, beaten, cursed at, and put next to an open window by inmates to be exposed to the cold. Those who participated in the persecution of Ms. Sheng and Practitioner B included local 610 Office agents; Liu Jingbing, the captain of the domestic security department; and the warden of the detention center.

Ms. Sheng, 48, was a farmer in Shahe Town. In 2004, she took up the practice of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa). By doing so she found a new meaning in life and was blessed by it.

On January 24, 2013, Ms. Sheng and Practitioner B tried to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa to three locals in the market. As they were about to leave, a police officer on duty arrested them and took them to the police station.

While at the police station, Ms. Sheng and Practitioner B tried to clarify the facts to the police. In the afternoon, a female police officer surnamed Wang from the local 610 Office and Liu Jingbing, captain of the domestic security department, went to the police station and interrogated them. Because they didn’t cooperate, Ms. Sheng and Practitioner B were locked into two separate rooms and tied to an iron bench with a rope. The police locked the gate with a password and left.

Practitioner B managed to cut the rope and unlock the gate, and ran away. The police were stunned by the escape.

After Practitioner B escaped, the police put Ms. Sheng into a large iron cage, for fear she would escape as well. They continued to interrogate her. It was wintertime and cold. Because Ms. Sheng didn’t cooperate, they left the window open to make her cold.

At 4 p.m. Ms. Sheng was taken to the city detention center. Liu continued to interrogate her. Ms. Sheng tried to clarify the facts to him, telling him, “After I practiced Falun Gong, I regained hearing in my deaf ear and all my illnesses disappeared. My family, friends, relatives, and neighbors all know that Falun Gong is good. I was just trying to tell people the truth, including you. Don’t be fooled by the regime. Don’t help them persecute good people. If you detain me, you will be helping them persecute a good person and breaking the law, when you should be enforcing it.”

A guard came in with a piece of paper for Ms. Sheng to sign. She read that it stated that she was not permitted to sue them. Ms. Sheng took the pen from him and wrote “I want to go home!” on the piece of paper. Furious, the guard retorted, “You have to wait!”

At night when Ms. Sheng sat down to do the meditation, six inmates jumped down from their beds and started beating her with their slippers and cursing her. Ms. Sheng shouted “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good; Falun Dafa is good! I practice Falun Gong to keep fit and stay healthy and try to be a good person. Why should you beat me?” One of the inmates said, “Because I want to.”

The warden came in but didn’t stop them. He said, “Don’t yell at her. Curse her master!” He then started cursing Master. The inmates followed his lead. Ms. Sheng cried sadly and said, “I am sorry, Master, I didn’t do a good job.” She shouted, “Stop cursing my Master!” They stopped hitting her.

On February 7, 2013, after 14 days, Ms. Sheng was released.

A Battle Between the Forces of Good and Evil

October 15, 2013 | By a practitioner from China

(Minghui.org) Several days ago, practitioner A handed me her experience sharing article, and asked if I would check it over before submitting it to the 10 th China Fahui on the Minghui website. I worked on the paper immediately and returned it to her overnight. But I did not heard from her again. Three days later, practitioner B told me to send forth righteous thoughts for practitioner A as she was in critical condition.

I was shocked. How could this happen? She seemed fine three days ago. When I asked where she was, practitioner B said, “She is in intensive care at the hospital and no one is allowed to visit. All we can do is to individually send forth righteous thoughts and hope for the best.” The next day, I was told that practitioner A had been sent home with no hope to live, and that the family was preparing for her funeral. As soon as we got word, all of us practitioners gathered at her home. While practitioner A lay there unconscious, we gathered round her bed and started to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the old force elements that were persecuting her physical body. We took turns to send forth righteous thoughts and continued 24 hours a day.

The situation was indeed very serious. Practitioner A had an oxygen tube inserted into her, her eyes were closed and her throat was filled with phlegm. Her son and daughter-in-law returned home from out of town. Her relatives and friends also came to say goodbye to her before she passed away. People started crying. It was at this point that her youngest son, who is also a practitioner, urged practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts for her.

Even while practitioner A was near death, one practitioner called out her name loudly and said, “Please send righteous thoughts!” Tenaciously, practitioner A’s right hand slowly stood erect in the righteous thoughts position and stayed like that for a long time. I was so very moved witnessing this. What a great practitioner she was.

I returned home in the early hours and went back to practitioner A’s house at 7 p.m. the next day, to continue the relay of sending forth righteous thoughts. I was speechless when I opened the door and saw practitioner A sitting up cross-legged on the bed doing the fifth exercise along with other practitioners. This was the first time in my life that I have witnessed Dafa’s supernormal ability! Practitioners worked as one body battling the old forces for two days and nights, finally retrieving practitioner A from the clutches of the old forces.

In 1997, practitioner A was diagnosed with leukemia. After spending lots of money looking for various treatments, she could not find a cure and her health was deteriorating. She only survived after a practitioner from out of town introduced her to Falun Gong. At that time, she swore to cultivate Dafa. She studied the Fa and practiced the exercises every day. Her illness disappeared within 3 months.

Practitioner A accumulated a lot of debt as a result of her medical treatment, and she has to raise three children. To make a living and pay off the debt, she owned a small booth in the city selling tobacco products, mineral water and kids toys. She got up very early in the morning to open for business and did not close until midnight. She had no time to do the three things that Master asks us to do, and eventually allowed herself to be taken advantage of by the old forces.

Master told us in “Fa Teaching at the 2013 Greater New York Fa Conference”, “Cultivate with the heart you once had, and consummation is certain.”

We should closely follow the progress of Fa-rectification and dedicate ourselves to do the three things well and not let Master down.

Paris, France: Rally and Parade Held to Encourage Chinese People to Quit the Chinese Communist Party (Photos)

October 14, 2013 | By a Falun Dafa practitioner in France

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a rally and parade in Paris on October 5, 2013, to draw attention to the crime of illegal organ harvesting in China and to support the 150 million Chinese people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

Valerie Boyer, member of the National Assembly of France, sent a letter of support. She noted that Spain and the U.S. have passed resolutions asking China to stop the heinous killing of Falun Gong practitioners–a true crime against humanity. Ms. Boyer demanded that the president of France take action by protesting this crime taking place in China.

Wu Manyang, president of the Falun Dafa Association in Europe, and Tang Hanlong, president of the Falun Dafa Association in France, spoke at the rally and condemned the CCP’s brutality against Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Passersby were given information to help them understand the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong.

The parade passed through many busy districts, with the music of the Divine Land Marching Band drawing the attention of many passersby. Numerous banners and posters, along with broadcasts in both Chinese and French, provided information about Falun Dafa and the brutal persecution in China. Several people took photographs and videos of the grand parade.

Mr. Li, in his 70s, immigrated to France from China many years ago. As soon as he heard the music of the Divine Land Marching Band, he hurried home and got his camera to capture the moment. After he heard about the cruel organ harvesting, he said that he believed that the CCP would collapse soon. “It’s losing the people’s support. Every year there are hundreds of thousands of mass protests. People never get justice in the courtrooms. The corrupt officials are protected and the ordinary people never get any help. This kind of Party is hopeless,” Mr. Li said.

Another parade spectator, George, who is in the printing business, said that he was in disbelief when he heard about the organ harvesting. “It’s unheard of that organ harvesting from living people could be taking place in the 21st century. Everyone should stand up and take action to stop this evil crime.”

Many passersby signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution and organ harvesting. Volunteers from the Service Center for Quitting the CCP and Its Affiliates helped many Chinese people along the parade route to quit the CCP after they had learned the truth. One of them said, “A new dawn is coming, we know.” Another said, “China is the only place where we can’t get the truth about Falun Gong.” Many parade spectators expressed support for what the practitioners were doing and wished them success.
