Hong Kong Rally and March Awakens the Hearts of Mainland Chinese Tourists (Photos)

(Minghui.org) On October 1, 2013, the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP held a rally at King’s Road Playground in the North Point area of Hong Kong.

The rally was held in commemoration of the 147 million Chinese people who have announced their withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and denounced the Party’s crimes against humanity, including harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

The event fell on the same day as the CCP’s “National Day”—the anniversary of when Chinese Communist forces seized power over China in 1949.

The rally was well attended by human rights activists, scholars, and politicians, who drove home the point that “National Day” was not a day of celebration, since it symbolizes the increasing control that the Chinese regime has over every aspect of life in the former British colony.

“So, faced with this October 1st day, we actually don’t have a national celebration,” declared Richard Tsoi, chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movement.

“Instead, we just feel that the country is dying; that there is actually nothing worth celebrating. To say the country is dying, it is not just today, but every day the land of China is dying.

“Since 1999, the Chinese regime has been persecuting Falun Gong. Over the past 14 years, Falun Gong practitioners and human rights lawyers, such as Gao Zhisheng, have been persecuted. The persecution is still going on. Thus, we have nothing to celebrate today.”

Mr. Tsoi said that there were numerous protests in China and that the Party cannot put a lid on every one of them. “Many people are awakening, and as the numbers grow, it is inevitable that truth will prevail,” he said.

Several speeches focused on the Party’s crimes against humanity, including the persecution of Falun Gong, while others focused on how the regime has virtually destroyed Chinese traditional culture, killing over 80 million Chinese people in the process.

The speakers also showed their strong support for the 147 million Chinese people who have already quit the Communist regime and its affiliated organizations.

Quit the CCP to Ensure a Good Future

Hu Jia, a human rights activist in Beijing, commented in a prerecorded speech: “Since October 1, 64 years ago, the Party has been trampling on China, and many Chinese people have been tortured. Countless people have died an untimely death.

“The Communist Party is going to collapse. Chinese people—especially officials—please renounce the regime to ensure yourself a good future. This is the only way you will not become an accomplice to its crimes.”

Bao Tong, the former secretary to Zhao Ziyang, who once served as the premier of China and general secretary of the CCP, said in a prerecorded speech: “The world knows who is persecuting Falun Gong. [Jiang Zemin] has committed the most grievous of crimes against humanity by launching this persecution against Falun Gong.

“I object to the Party’s trampling upon and bullying others. Whoever treats others inhumanely is himself against humanity!”

Sun Wenguang, a retired professor from Shandong University, said in his prerecorded speech: “I support this Hong Kong march, because it represents the voices of many disenchanted mainland Chinese people.”

If You Don’t Speak Out … Sooner or Later You Will Lose Your Rights, Too!

Leung Kwok-hung, a member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, said, “If you don’t speak out when Falun Gong practitioners are being deprived of their rights, sooner or later you will lose your rights, too!”

Mr. Lam Wing-yin, a member of the Sai Kung District Council, said, “We absolutely protest this crime of live organ harvesting in China. We believe that the Communist Party will be punished by Heaven; the CCP will collapse!”

Pastor Fung Chi-wood, a former member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, commented, “Since the Party came to power, it has intentionally and systemically destroyed Chinese traditional culture.

“I hope that Shen Yun Performing Arts will one day perform in Hong Kong and China. This will give Chinese people a chance to see an authentic Chinese art performance.”

Attorney Teresa Chu calls on the UN to help stop the CCP’s forced organ harvesting in China

The UN Cannot Ignore the Genocide Taking Place in China

Teresa Chu, who is both an attorney for Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) in the Asian region and a spokesperson of the Taiwan Falun Gong Human Rights Lawyer Group, also attended the rally.

She announced: “Since mid-June to October 1 of this year, over 443,843 people from 32 countries in Europe, America, Australia, and Asia have signed the DAFOH global petition form, calling on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to help stop the CCP’s practice of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

“The UN cannot ignore the genocide that is taking place in China, nor can it ignore former president of China Jiang Zemin’s crimes against humanity and the torture he has inflicted on millions of innocent people. He should be sued and investigated as soon as possible, along with Zhou Yongkang and Bo Xilai!”

Practitioners’ Peaceful March Moves Spectators

After the rally, the Divine Land Marching Band lead a procession of more than 800 practitioners from King’s Road Playground to the China Liaison Office.

Among the many pieces that the band played were: “Falun Dafa Is Good,” “Drums and Trumpets Shake the World,” “The Fa Rectifies the Universe,” and “Delivering Treasure.”

The march was grand and peaceful and caught the attention of many Chinese tourists, shoppers, and passersby. Many people snapped photos of the event, while others gave it two thumbs-up.

Practitioners expose the CCP’s crimes, shocking many Chinese tourists.

During Hong Kong Golden Week—a week-long Chinese holiday that is also celebrated on October 1—over six million mainland Chinese tourists converged on Hong Kong to shop and sightsee.

When the practitioners marched through several busy areas in the city, hundreds of thousands of tourists from the mainland saw their banners decrying the CCP’s live organ harvesting crimes. Many of them were shocked and awed by the practitioners’ procession.

“There is a market for human organs, so it is understandable that some people in China would want to capitalize on that market,” said a Chinese man after seeing the practitioners’ banners condemning the CCP’s crime of live organ harvesting.

“We know that some people do traffic in organs and that some death-row inmates have their organs removed. However, killing Falun Gong practitioners for their organs is too cruel; it’s evil!”

We All Renounced the Party

While Falun Gong practitioners Yang Xiaolan and Haiyan distributed informational materials about quitting the Party, many mainland tourists encouraged them.

One person said, “We all know about quitting the CCP. We already did it online. We support Falun Gong.”

“Many Chinese tourists quit the Party today,” Haiyan noted. “As soon as we suggested that they quit, they immediately agreed. I think seeing our march had something to do with it. Many people know that the Party is evil and agree with Falun Gong.”

Teacher Ms. Jiang Xinbo Taken to Brainwashing Center after Being Persecuted in Prison for Four Years

October 13, 2013 | By a Minghui correspondent in Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) On September 9, Ms. Jiang Xinbo, a Falun Gong practitioner and a teacher at Qianjin Farm Middle School (Qianjin Farm is a state-owned farm in Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province) was supposed to be released after being persecuted for four years in Heilongjiang Women’s Prison.

Her relatives, including her husband and brother, anxiously waited outside for her. They were then told to sign some forms, because instead of being released, Ms. Jiang was taken to Qinglongshan Farm Brainwashing Center.

Her relatives could not hide their disappointment, and her sister wept when they were told this sad news.

Her daughter wrote her in a letter a few days ago, “Others always complain, ‘How quickly time passes!’ These four years–1460 days–I’ve been parted from my mother, were too long. It felt like several hundred years. How I long for you to return home! I always dream about the wonderful times I enjoyed with you and Father. After the Communist Party arrested you, my sweet dreams were dashed again and again.”

Four years ago, Ms. Jiang were arrested secretly by police officers Liu Jiazhong and Zhao Jun when she was giving out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. It wasn’t until two months later that her family heard that she would be tried on December 2 or 3 in Jiansanjiang Court.

Ms. Jiang’s family hired a lawyer. However, presiding judge Yuan Pengfei postponed the trial again and again, delaying it more than six weeks. During this time, officials from the Jiansanjiang Farm forced Ms. Jiang’s husband to fire her lawyer. Then they held the trial and illegally sentenced her to four years in prison.

In the morning on September 9, 2013, Li Junli, head of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of Qianjin Farm; police head Wang Li; and 610 Office head Shi Ping took Ms. Jiang to Qinglongshang Detention Center. They made a video recording of the personnel assembled to pick up Ms. Jiang while they posed in front of their vehicles in front of the prison.

Mr. Liu Yong Arrested Again Shortly after His Release from 12 Years of Persecution in Mental Hospital

October 13, 2013 | By a Minghui correspondent from Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org)

Summary of Key Persecution Facts:

Name: Liu Yong (刘勇)
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Address: Handan City, Hebei Province
Occupation: Former employee of the Handan Iron and Steel Group
Date of Most Recent Arrest: September 12, 2013
Most Recent Place of Detention: Unknown
City: Handan
Province: Hebei
Persecution Suffered: Forced injections/drug administration, solitary confinement, fired from workplace, sent to a mental hospital

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Yong was arrested at around 7 p.m. on September 12, 2013, less than two months after his recent release from Baoding Mental Hospital, where he had been detained for 12 years. He has been reportedly sent back to the mental hospital, but the details are yet to be confirmed.

The persecution that Mr. Liu endured was detailed on the Minghui website as a typical case of Falun Gong practitioners being categorized as mental patients by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. Now he is again arrested.

Hospital Staff: “He Is Not Mentally Ill”

For 12 years, Mr. Liu was treated as a patient at the mental hospital, where he was given all kinds of drugs under the guise of “psychiatric treatment,” and accompanied only by other mental patients. Such an environment could cause even a healthy, normal person to become deranged, yet Mr. Liu survived by firmly holding onto his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

A medical staff member at Baoding Mental Hospital commented, “Liu Yong is not mentally ill. He is in great health. He does his meditation and exercises every day and also helps other patients. He is a good person, and this is well recognized by everyone at the hospital.”

Mr. Liu was finally released on July 13, 2013, after 12 years. Director Han of the Baoding Mental Hospital personally took him back to his place of employment, the Handan Iron and Steel Group.

Twelve years is a long time, especially when it spans the prime of one’s life, the 30s and early 40s.

No Job, No Social Contacts

So what happened in the less than two months after his return to Handan City? How was he doing? We learned that Mr. Liu faced many difficulties upon his release. His former employer would not re-hire him. Because the CCP fabricated stories and lies about Falun Gong, his mother was still very much against it and refused to learn the truth about the practice. She closely monitored her son, strictly limited his activities, and cut off all his contact with the outside world.

Mr. Liu wanted to find a job and become independent of his mother. He said, “I have to make a living and get my own place. I can’t live with my mother; she has put me in a very bad position. I feel really bad here (pointing to his chest and head). I need to find work that’s easy to do.” He seemed very helpless when he said all this.

Mr. Liu was obviously capable of verbally expressing himself in a normal manner. However, because he had been out of touch with the outside world for so long, he seemed out of place in society after his release and was often at a loss. He was unemployed and had to rely on his mother.

Mother Deceived by the CCP

His mother retained a hostile attitude toward Falun Gong and Mr. Liu, even though he was exhausted mentally and physically. She would rather believe the CCP’s lies than her own son. Maybe in her mind, Mr. Liu was still “mentally ill.”

After all, Mr. Liu’s mother worked with the officials of the Handan Iron and Steel Group to have her own son sent to Baoding Mental Hospital in the first place.

Over the past 12 years, she had been afraid that the Handan Iron and Steel Group would not pay Mr. Liu’s medical bills and that the “government” would give up on her son and his treatments. She had never helped Mr. Liu nor tried to free him. Instead, she feared that her son would return to Handan. It’s unknown whether his mother had anything to do with Mr. Liu’s recent arrest.

Please find more detailed information about Mr. Liu and the persecution he has endured in the article “Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Declared Mentally Fit After 12 Years of Unjust Incarceration in Psychiatric Institution” on the Minghui website. We call for close attention to be paid to Mr. Liu’s situation, for the CCP to stop persecuting him in the name of “psychiatric treatment,” and for help in rescuing him from the mental hospital.
